Special Collections at Plattsburgh State U. of NY has indexed regional
periodicals, including retrospectively, for about thirty years. The
project is ongoing, and includes newspapers, magazines, and ephemora.
Current newspaper indexing is not comprehensive - value judgements are
made about what to include. The indexing is in hard format - card catalog.
but we are trying to get it online. A database has been created, but
various obstacles have prevented us from getting it on the Web. We keep
trying and hope to have it up soon.
