I am starting work on a project about the activities of recruiters for the
Lowell cotton mills in the Champlain Valley in the 19th century, and I
wonder if any list members have come across references in their research.
The sum total of my sources now are an 1847 newspaper clipping from
Plattsburgh and an 1865 letter from a recruiter in East Alburgh
(Vermont?), so anything else you may have will be greatly appreciated!
