Halfmoon >> The Town Board recognized the 20-year longevity and
efforts of the Halfmoon Historical Society last week with the official
presentation of the organization’s absolute or permanent charter.

The charter puts the historical society on the same plane as a
certified non-profit giving it tax free status and more importantly,
allowing it the opportunity to apply for grants. The charter was
approved by the New York State Board of Regents’ Education Department
at its Nov. 13 meeting.
