The correct spelling is Mitchel Field, with only one l.  The field, located in
Hicksville, Long Island, New York,  was not named for 1930s airpower
advocate BGen William "Billy" Mitchell.  Rather, the field predates the
famous general and was, among other things, the site of the Pulitzer Air
Races in the 1920s.
