JOHNSTOWN — The Johnstown Historical Society recently acquired the
James Burk Inn and will be holding a special event next month in an
effort to raise funds to restore the historic structure, said
Johnstown Historical Society President Noel Levee.

<snip>

The building, located on the corner of William and Montgomery streets,
has a long and unique history. Levee said the house is believed to be
one of the six to 12 houses built by Sir William Johnson. He said all
of the houses were one and one-half story’s and painted yellow.
