CALL FOR PAPERS
RESEARCHING NEW YORK 2003:
PERSPECTIVES ON EMPIRE STATE HISTORY
November 20 & 21, 2003
University at Albany, SUNY
The organizers of the 5th Annual Researching New York Conference invite
proposals for papers, panels, workshops, roundtables, exhibits, and media
presentations on any aspect of New York State history from the colonial
period to the present. We encourage submissions from anyone engaged in the
exploration of New York history; this conference brings together
researchers, archivists, librarians, historians, graduate students, museum
curators, web site creators, and documentarians. As in previous years,
Researching New York will highlight the integral relations between
researchers and archival resources.
We are pleased to announce that Laurence Hauptman, Distinguished University
Professor, SUNY New Paltz, will deliver the keynote address: "One False
Assumption [About the Iroquois Indians] and Logic Does the Rest."
Proposals are due by July 15, 2003. Full panel proposals, workshops,
roundtables, exhibits, and media presentations are encouraged. Partial
panels and individual submissions are welcome. For panels and full
proposals, please submit a one page abstract of the complete session, a one
page abstract of each paper or presentation, and a one page curriculum vita
for each participant. For individual submissions, please submit a one page
abstract and a one page curriculum vita.
