CALL FOR PAPERS RESEARCHING NEW YORK 2003: PERSPECTIVES ON EMPIRE STATE HISTORY November 20 & 21, 2003 University at Albany, SUNY The organizers of the 5th Annual Researching New York Conference invite proposals for papers, panels, workshops, roundtables, exhibits, and media presentations on any aspect of New York State history from the colonial period to the present. We encourage submissions from anyone engaged in the exploration of New York history; this conference brings together researchers, archivists, librarians, historians, graduate students, museum curators, web site creators, and documentarians. As in previous years, Researching New York will highlight the integral relations between researchers and archival resources. We are pleased to announce that Laurence Hauptman, Distinguished University Professor, SUNY New Paltz, will deliver the keynote address: "One False Assumption [About the Iroquois Indians] and Logic Does the Rest." Proposals are due by July 15, 2003. Full panel proposals, workshops, roundtables, exhibits, and media presentations are encouraged. Partial panels and individual submissions are welcome.
