New Utrecht Dutch Reformed Church: Liberty Weekend June 8 to 10

The Friends of Historic New Utrecht welcome you to attend The New Utrecht
Dutch Reformed Church for Liberty Weekend June 8, 9, 10th. There are many
activities planned ... Civil War and Revolutionary War re-enactments. A
concert Friday at 8 p.m. featuring the ISO Symphonic Band and Saturday at 8
p.m. a Jazz Concert.

After an all faith service (???) on Sunday at 11 a.m. a parade will follow at
1 p.m.

There will be a commemoration ceremony of the 218th Anniversary of the
raising of the Liberty Pole (it is the last remaining in the country).

The New Utrecht Dutch Reformed Church is located on 18th Avenue and 84th
Street, in Kings County, also known as the borough of Brooklyn, New York City
.

There will also be Cemetery tours daily. The Cemetery is located on 16th
Avenue and 84th Street the site of the former church (1677). Brooklyn's first
families are interred there.

Both sites are on the National Register of Historic Places.
