   Clyde-Savannah CSD 1966
    Lyons CSD 1942
    Marion CSD 1932
    Newark CSD 1955
    North Rose-Wolcott CSD 1969
    Palmyra-Macedon CSD 1950
Red Creek CSD 1938 (began operating 1939)
    Sodus CSD 1944
    Wayne CSD 1949
    Williamson CSD 1930
    Gananda 1974

Some of these represent consolidations of previously established central school districts, e.g.:

Clyde CSD 1938
Rose CSD 1926
Wolcott CSD 1931

Gananda, an unincorporated area, was a housing development founded in 1974 with its own school district.

The Encyclopedia of New York State is trying to assemble data tables on
various subjects and we are finding a surprisingly difficult time finding
reliable information on some basic things.

Our current need is to find a reliable source of information on the
organization dates of extant school districts. Telephone calls to school
district offices reveal that many have no idea when they were organized.
Other districts provide dates that contradict published sources.

Does anyone out there know of a reliable source for the date of organization
of the various school districts in New York State?
