As a volunteer for the Riley County Genealogical Society (Kansas) I
helped abstract for publication (from microfilm) old newspapers from
Manhattan (The Little Apple), Kansas. We printed two small volumes that
were available at the Society or through purchase. (Though more may
have been done by this time.)

Genealogists around the world are abstracting and publishing in hard
copy or online, material that is otherwise difficult to find. Besides
The USGenWeb Project, there are other projects doing similar things such
as The New Netherland Project.
