G'Day, Annette et al!

Hate to butt in, but we watched a program on PBS last evening which involved
a canoe trip on the old Erie Canal in the vicinity of the Montezuma Wildlife
Management Area.  They stopped off at Howland Island, located between the
Seneca River and the Erie Canal (as shown on the DeLorme map of NYS) and the
narrator told about the German internees who had been located there during
WW2.  Located on the southern border between Cayuga and Wayne Counties, in
Cayuga County, Town of Conquest (!).

I believe the camp was on Howell's Island rather than Howland...
