Further response to Mr. Stone's inquiry about Thruway records:

The New York State Archives in Albany holds about 42 cu. ft. of records
from the Thruway Authority public information office.  The records span
the period 1946-1972 and include general files, press clippings, press
releases, news releases, and motion pictures and photographs of
Thruway construction and improvement.  In short, a lot of interesting
material on the "main street" of the Empire State.
