The Upstate History Alliance has recently oipened a search for the below
listed positions. Please contact UHA at [log in to unmask] with any
questions.

Special Projects Coordinator/2006
Take lead in planning workshops and additional training opportunities for
museum professionals and volunteers, including a conference on Native
American interpretation and repatriation (Fall, 2006). Five hours/week, work
can be done in our Oneonta office or off-site.

The successful applicant will have an understanding of the museum field and
experience in planning conferences,  events or educational programs.

Program Assistant
This 16-20 hour week position will provide support for UHA's many
professional development and technical assistance programs. This will
include maintaining information on and for grant applicants, maintaining our
membership database, coordinating contacts with constituents, and assisting
with conferences and workshop planning and implementation.

The successful applicant will be flexible, with an attention to detail.
Must have word processing and data base management skills and be
service-oriented. Design and/or marketing skills a plus. Position open until

About the Upstate History Alliance
Established in 1971, we are a non-profit organization which provides
support, advice and training to historical societies, museums, historians
and others interested in history in upstate New York.

Our mission is to build the capacity of upstate history organizations to use
history to engage the public in shaping their communities. Our activities,
programs and services are geared towards fulfilling the following goals:

* Ensuring that our constituents understand, embrace and aspire towards a
set of standards and best practices
* Providing tools for constituents to present the full diversity of their
communities, past and present
* Facilitating the use and sharing of resources and expertise to strengthen
all upstate history organizations
* Achieving a broader understanding of the value of history
