Hello All,
Gilgo Beach is a Town of Babylon beach. I am a Babylon resident, and town
legend has it that the beach was named for a fisherman named Gill.
Apparently, if someone would ask you where you were going to fish, it became
popular to say, "I'm going where Gill goes", which eventually became just
Gilgo.
