   It has been suggested to me offlist that Jno Hudson allias John Leverett may have been a minor for a time in the household of John and Hannah (Hudson) Leverett.  He thus may have been known by both his father's surname and the surname of the man to whom he was a ward.  I think this is the most logical explanation and I thank all those who helped with this.
