In checking the New York State Red Book, Henry Pell does not appear in the
chronological listings of Clerk of the NYS Assembly.

Subject: Henry Scofield Pell

John McNamara's History in Asphalt indicates that Pell
Place on City Island in the Bronx may be named after
Henry Scofield Pell (b. 1856) who was "Clerk of the
New York State Assembly, and a real estate dealer in
later life." Does anyone know when he served as
clerk? Or have any other information about him??
