I think the museum in Blue Mountain has (had) a bit on the amount of farm
land in the Adirondacks that is no longer used. In my research of Long Lake,
the amount of farmers shown on the census is really amazing. Most crops seem
to be grown. My Grandmother remembered the hills once cleared, now
completely grown over. There was once two golf courses there in the early
part of the century.
