The publication of Alf Evers’s book Kingston: City on the Hudson will be
celebrated at a reception hosted by Mayor James Sottile at Kingston City Hall
(420 Broadway). The event takes place Sunday, October 30th from 2 to 4 PM.
Published by The Overlook Press of Woodstock, the long-awaited, 500-page history –
fourteen years in the writing -- was the last great work of Alf’s life,
completed shortly before his death last year at the age of 99. Please join the
Mayor, Overlook Press's publisher Peter Mayer, Kingstonians, history lovers and
book lovers from throughout the area to celebrate the appearance of this
important book by the region's most esteemed and beloved historian. For information,
