Dear Colleagues,

The Program and Registration Form for the 2007 Conference on New York
State
History is now available at:

The Conference will meet at Cooperstown on June 7-9, hosted by the New
York
State Historical Society. We celebrate fifty years of annual
conferences
beginning with the First College Conference on New York History held
at
Cooperstown in 1957.

The Wendell Tripp Lecture "The Layers of New York History: A Look
Across
Time at Rensselaer County" will be given by Edward Countryman, the
author of
the Bancroft Prize winning book A People in Revolution: The American
Revolution and Political Society in New York, 1760-1790, among other
works.
David William Voorhees will give the keynote lecture on the Flushing
Remonstrance, and Elizabeth Bradley will speak on Father Knickerbocker
in
the Twentieth Century. 

On Thursday the Upstate History Alliance is presenting a workshop with
Carol
Kammen and others on developing community history projects.

Other conference highlights include tours of The Farmers' Museum, the
Fenimore Art Museum, the Thayer Homestead, Hyde Hall, the Hanford
Mills
Museum, and the Iroquois Indian Museum.
