54th Annual SEMINARS ON AMERICAN CULTURE in Cooperstown announces 2001
schedule!

The long-established and esteemed SEMINARS ON AMERICAN CULTURE provide a
relaxed yet spirited environment for the exploration of a wide variety of
topics related to American culture, craft and history.

With the renowned museums of Cooperstown as classrooms, and with beautiful
Otsego Lake -- James Fenimore Cooper's "Glimmerglass" -- as a backdrop, this
year's seminars offer 3-1/2 to 5-day sessions on subjects ranging from
19th-century medicine, history publishing, arboreal traditions, and
architectural heritage, to the "forest diplomacy" between colonials and
Native Americans, blacksmithing, gilding, teaching strategies to meet state
initiatives, folk art and family history research, and much more. Evening
programs, receptions and collections tours included.

Send for a complete catalog of schedules, seminar descriptions and faculty
biographies. Accredited for in-service and continuing education credits
through SUNY-Oneonta. Contact:
