Dear Folks,
I would like to know if anyone knows the history of the Irish in Hudson, NY,
Columbia Cty around late 1840's/1850's/1860's. My ggrandfather, Michael
FLYNN, immigrated to U.S. and settled in Hudson. He was a
bricklayer/stonemason. There is no information about the Irish in Hudson at
that time and yet in the 1850/1860 there are many Irish surnames.
We believe he left there in the late 1860's but can't find where he went.
Would anyone know a likely place in NY a bricklayer would go to work at that
time? Also Irish organizations with lists of members would be helpful also.
