     Here is a bit of news that will gladden many historical researchers
and genealogists.

     David Burr's 1829 Atlas of the State of New York has been added to the
David Rumsey Collection (www.davidrumsey.com).  This is one of the oldest
state atlases in the nation, and it contains relatively detailed maps (for
the time) of every county in the state.  Image quality is superb, and all
details can be read.
