HERKIMER — When visitors tour the 1834 Jail at Herkimer's Historic
Four Corners, one of the places they ask to see is Chester Gillette's
jail cell.

Now, they can see it looking a bit more like it did when Gillette
occupied it in 1906 while awaiting trial in the death of Grace “Billy”
Brown, who was pregnant with his child. He was found guilty of murder
and died in the electric chair March 30, 1908, at Auburn Prison in
Auburn.
