St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands has a large section that received
the reburials of St. Mary's Cemetery, formerly on Washington Ave
in Albany. Tom Tucker, an employee of St. Agnes, had previously
seen articles about this removal and reburial which took place
from 1913-1919. I am trying to help him locate any information
that is possible.

The Times Union has no morgue or files on earlier editions of
their papers. They have back to 1986 on the Web and the past
30 days in hard copy.

The St. Mary's cemetery was on Washington Ave and the land
abuts the present high school according to Mr. Tucker. From
articles he had seen (and cannot locate now) the City of Albany
paid for removal and reburial of this cemetery, mostly to St.
Agnes. No one finds any record of the City doing this and
financing this move.

The reburials are without names. St. Mary's has no records of
their original burial or this reburial.

Does anyone know of any information on this? If anyone has
any files or newspaper clippings with dates, that would help
to know where to start.
