Dear Friends of History --
Buildings have a story to tell us if we know how to listen, says Alison Lurie, the Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist and author of THE LANGUAGE OF HOUSES. The U Club, Historic Albany Foundation, Society of Architectural Historians and Preservation League of NYS are bringing the author to the National Register-listed University Club of Albany, 141 Washington Avenue at Dove Street, on Monday, October 20. Meet the author reception with cash bar and light fare from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., presentation and book signing to follow. Discounted tickets ($15) for members of presenting organizations, $20 for general public. Please RSVP by calling 518-463-1151, by emailing [log in to unmask] or online with a credit card at http://www.uclubevents.blogspot.com/2014/10/the-language-of-houses-with-author.html
