Mohican Seminar, hosted by Columbia-Greene Community College’s Native

The Mohican Seminar is being held in conjunction with the annual meeting
of the Native American Institute to stimulate knowledge, research, and
awareness of the varied eastern Algonquin peoples. Academic and public
historians, educators, publishers and general students of Native
American history will come together to discuss topics and issues related
to Native American people and to share information and ideas regarding
historical research.

Interested parties are encouraged to submit a one-page abstract to be
received no later than Friday, January 14, 2000. Abstracts may be faxed
to 518-822-2003 or
emailed to [log in to unmask] Special scheduling and equipment requests
also should accompany the abstracts. The selection committee will
notify potential presenters by Monday, February 14, 2000, and at that
time, the committee will request that the prospective presenter submit a
rough draft by Tuesday, March 14, 2000.

Time constraints may limit the number of presenters at the seminar.
Poster presentations, workshops and other accepted papers are
contemplated and permission to print will be expected.

All program presenters are expected to register for the seminar.
