On Thursday, February 15th, at 6 pm, Christopher M. Finan will give a free talk focusing on New York politician Al Smith.

Mr. Finan's talk will take place at the Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site, 28 East 20th Street (between Park Avenue South and Broadway), NYC. Admission is free.

Author of the critically-acclaimed book ALFRED E. SMITH: THE HAPPY WARRIOR, Chris Finan is the world's leading authority on Smith, who dominated New York politics for a generation but then went down to bitter defeat as the first major Roman Catholic contender for the presidency of the United States.

Mr. Finan is also the president of the American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression, which was established in 1990 to defend the First Amendment rights of booksellers and their customers. He is married to the writer Pat Willard, and lives in Brooklyn.
