I wonder if the word Yankee is related to Brother Jonathan who was later
seen as the nephew of Uncle Sam? Could anyone cite some sources on this
relationship? I believe Uncle Sam predates the Thomas Nast depictions of
Brother Jonathan and Uncle Sam but both characters seem to be Yankee
prototypes, no? Also where does the Yankee Doodle character fit in?
