I'm retiring as Executive Director of the Essex Community Heritage
Organization (ECHO), Essex, New York, at the end of the year after 21
years in that position. ECHO is one of New York' oldest (1969) and
most active rural preservation groups.  The ECHO Board of Directors
is beginning the process to search for a replacement.  This is an
opportunity to live in and work for the protection of one of the most
beautiful small towns anywhere.  Essex is on the shore of Lake
Champlain, within the Adirondack Park and its extraordinary
recreational opportunities.  Burlington Vermont is a 30 minute ferry
