Can anyone direct me to any biographical information about Orsamus Turner, author of "History of the Pioneer Settlement of Phelps and Gorham's Purchase and Morris' Reserve"--or at least give me his birth and death dates?

Is he the same Orsamus Turner (could there be two?) who was arrested in connection with the 1826 abduction of William Morgan from the Canandaigua jail? (See http://www.newspaperabstracts.com/NY/Ontario/1827/SEP.html)
