I have been researching the mid-19th century publishers of Cazenovia, in Central NY. They published many of the same texts that these folks. If anyone knows of materials for the Cazenovia printers please let me know, too! One of the hardest things I faced in my research is that there is usually no way to search the published sources by geographical location or publisher name - you have to know the title exists before you can research it! I'm far from finishing my research, but take a look at the web page I have compiled: http://users.erols.com/weiskotten/CazPublishers.html Here are a few references that I have not gotten around to finding yet (ie: I don't know how good they are): Hamilton, Milton W., 1964, _The Country Printer, New York State_ Ira J. Friedman. Port Washington, NY. A Checklist fo Utica Imprints 1799-1830 _American Imprints Inventory #3, 1942_. "Preliminary Checklist of Batavia Imprints, 1819-1876" in _New York History_ V24 #3-4, V25 #1-2, July 1943 and April 1944. Hill, William Henry, 1930, _A Brief History of the printing Press in Washington, Saratoga, and Warren Counties ..._ (privately printed). and, as Carol Kammen suggested: Grosvenor Library Bulletins V17 #4 1935, "A Bibliography of Books and Pamphlets Published at Geneva, NY, 1800-1850" V18 #4 1936, "Additional Geneva Imprints" V19 #4 1937, "A Bibliography of Books and Pamphlets Published at Ithaca, NY, 1820-1850" V20 #4 1938, "A Bibliography of Books and Pamphlets Published at Auburn, NY, 1810-1850" V21 #4 1939, "A Bibliography of Books and Pamphlets Published at Canandaigua, NY, 1800-1850" Also, Stephen R. Wiist's unpublished MA Thesis (1973) "A History of Printing in Cooperstown, New York, 1795-1850, Including Imprints Bibliography" (SUNY Oneonta / Cooperstown Graduate Program) is at the NYSHA library in Cooperstown. I do not know of any primary sources, but perhaps these publications will cite other sources that would be of help. Dan W. (formerly of Cazenovia, NY, now of Richmond, VA)
