I am doing a little exploration into the threatening letter that Mary Alexander received in February of 1734 at her house in New York City.  The letter was published in the Journal and a report of the investigation was also printed.  I am looking either for other contemporary references to the letter or modern scholarly interpretations.  So far the only historian I've found who discusses it is William Smith Jr.  I'd appreciate any leads.

Thanks very much!
