As was the 1935 John Ford version with Henry Fonda. Leonard Maltin lists it as a movie shown on television, but the video version seems to be quite elusive. The Grable-Robertson remake was a musical, IIRC, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was inferior to the original. I remember someone's comment once to that effect.
