In Robert J. Vierhile and William J. Vierhile's booklet "The Canadiagua Lake Steamboat Era" it's stated in the second chapter that J. and A. McKechnie launched a 110-foot soft-coal burning sidewheeler Canandaigua in 1867. Further on in the chapter there's asegment on the 110-foot steamboat Canandaigua launched in 1865 by the Warner Brothers. I'm guessing that they are the same boat, but why the discrepency? Is one date a typo. Was it launched in 1865 but not go into service until 1867? Exactly who were the McKechnies and the Warners? Owners and builders? The other way around? Help! Thanks in advance for any information and everyone enjoy the New Year.
