It was dressmaking. 19 E. 34th in 1892, and W. 56th in 1920's. These addresses may have been the location of the shop and/or residence of the owners. Taken from city directories. I wonder if I should look into ILGWU or something like that... I also learned that there were some large labor strikes for garment workers in NYC about 1909-1910. Maybe newspapers would have something about the shop during that time frame.
