WATERFORD >> The historical and continuing significance of the state’s Barge Canal has been recognized with a listing on the National Register of Historic Places. The designation was celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 22 during a dedication ceremony at the Visitor Center for the Erie Canal National Heritage Corridor located on Peebles Island.
