Russel Wright: The Nature of Design, A Conversation with Russel Wright’s Daughter, Annie Wright and Co-Curators Donald Albrecht and Dianne Pierce Saturday, November 9 1–2:00p.m. Huxley Theater This program features a discussion between the curators and Annie Wright, Russel Wright’s daughter that will illuminate the current exhibition at the New York State Museum. Central to the discussion will be Wright’s slide show and script that he created in the early 1960s and features prominently in the exhibition. This is where he eloquently described his intentions at Manitoga, his modernist home, studio and 75-acre woodland garden in Garrison, New York. More than just a residence for himself, Manitoga was, he noted, “a designer’s experiment – a dramatization of how a house can be made individual”.
