Joseph L. Connors, 77, town of Northampton, Fulton County, passed away
suddenly but peacefully Thursday, November 21, 2013.

Although Joe was a computer programmer, working lastly for Noteworthy
Company, in Amsterdam, his greatest passion was for tower bells, most
of which were made in the foundries of Troy and West Troy. He was a
self-proclaimed "accidental chime historian." He was the chimer at
St.Patrick's in Troy until the last Mass was said in 2010. His passion
was not just the research and ringing of bells, but he worked hard at
restoring bells and their systems so they could be rung manually. In
2012, he did extensive work to restore the bells at The Cathedral of
the Immaculate Conception, in Albany, that had not been rung for 50
years. They have been played for many occasions since.
