The New York History Blog (http://www.newyorkhistoryblog.org/) has been a volunteer effort of dozens of contributors over the past five years.

The site is updated several times each day and covers all aspects of New York's state and local history, academic issues, public history, the latest books and other publications, conferences and calls, ongoing exhibits and upcoming events. Each week we link to the state's top history news and weblinks; we've published over 3,200 posts.

The site relies on the state's history community to contribute to build a place to exchange news and information. Many connections have already been made.

Because we are all working together to contribute content, The New York History Blog has the largest audience of its kind, reaching more readers that all other state history journals and magazines combined. It also maintains active Facebook and Twitter accounts.

I encourage you to contact me if you'd like to contribute, have your news or upcoming event recognized, or simply have something to say about the state's "historical enterprise".  We would all welcome your contributions.
