SARATOGA SPRINGS >> Ed Susman is returning to the Spa City this
weekend for his 50th Saratoga Springs High School reunion. However,
that’s not the only reason for his visit.

Friday, he’ll be donate a nearly century-old scrapbook filled with
hundreds of rare but well-preserved articles to the New York State
Military Museum. The collection, which he purchased from an
antiquities dealer, details New York National Guard’s participation in
the 1916 Border Campaign between the U.S. and Mexico, when the army,
led by Gen. John J. “Black Jack” Pershing, went into northern Mexico
to find and capture revolutionary Pancho Villa, after he attacked the
American border town of Columbus, N.M.

“It’s a remarkable collection,” said Susman, of West Palm Beach, Fla.
“The articles are in perfect condition. They haven’t deteriorated at
all.”
