WILTON — Grant Cottage State Historic Site has a new feature this
year, a series of interpretive panels that cover three different
aspects of Ulysses S. Grant’s life.

They are his role as Union Army commander during the Civil War, Grant
the president who carried out President Lincoln's vision for a unified
United States, and his final battle against poverty and cancer.

Grant died at the place now known as Grant Cottage, atop Mount
McGregor, in July 1885 shortly after completing his memoirs.
