"Jesse S. Wooley, prominent photographer in Ballston Spa for many years, died this morning at his residence there after a long illness.  He was active in church and civic affairs, being a member of the Baptist Church of which he was deacon and trustee.  At the time of his death he was an honorary deacon of the church.  Before the days of moving pictures, he traveled all through the state giving lectures illustrated by pictures he had taken.  He is survived by one son, Carl of Ballston Spa, one daughter, Mrs. Franklin Kilmer of Schenectady; one grandson, Franklin Kilmer and one sister, Mrs. William Brown of Ballston Spa."

"Jesse S. Wooley, 76, of Pleasant street died Thursday morning after a long illness.  Mr. Wooley, a prominent business man in Ballston Spa for a number of years, was born in the Town of Wilton, May 23, 1867.  He was the son of Edmond R. and Emma Winnie Wooley.  The family were early settlers in the latter part of 1600 in Rhode Island.

"As a youth Mr. Wooley was employed by T.J. Arnold, local photographer.  Later he purchased the business in 1887 and in 1915 sold it to Howard L. Humes.

"Mr. Wooley had been active in the Baptist church for many years, being a trustee and deacon of the church.  He was a member of the Rotary club, the Modern Woodmen of the World and president of the former chamber of commerce.

"He is survived by one son, Carl S. Wooley, Ballston Spa; a daughter, Mrs. J.F. Kilmer, Schenectady; a sister, Mrs. W.A. Brown, Ballston Spa, and a grandson, Robert Kilmer.

"The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wheeler Funeral home.  Rev. J.B. Freestone, Baptist church pastor, will officiate and burial will be in the Ballston Spa cemetary.
