Thank you for your help. I'm writing a story for the Forward that focuses on working conditions at Macy's at the beginning of the 20th century. I understand Isidor Straus started a number of programs to help his workers, including subsidized meals, a burial society, some form of nominal healthcare etc. I wanted to check with members of the labor community to see how Mr Straus was viewed by his workers/the unions. Can you/anyone you know, help?
Best regards,
Paul
