Exhumations -- As I recall, there have been recent controversies concerning the exhumation of Merriwether Lewis (of the Lewis and Clark expedition) (exhumation refused) and President Zachary Taylor (did he die of arsenic poisoning?). Napoleon Bonaparte's remains were also subject to ex-post-facto examination, and apparently arsenic was found in his hair -- was he poisoned, or was it just from the wallpaper at Mount Helena? Jesse James was "exhumed" in 1995. There must be dozens of other cases of famous folk being dug up, or where requests to dig them up were denied. Hugh MacDougall Cooperstown
