Hello Folks:

I just wanted to let everyone know that the Fabius Historical Society is honored to have Bill Farrell present his research on the origins of the names of NYS towns and villages.  Bill's presentation will be on Monday Oct 7th, 2002 at 7:30 pm at the new Fabius Community Center.   Bill will be bringing copies of his book "Classical Place Names in New York State: Origins, Histories and Meaning" for those that may wish to purchase a copy. Fabius Historical Society welcomes all that wish to attend.

A little backround and information on Bill Farrell:  Information taken from Dick Case's article Syracuse Post Standard 3-10-2002.

Bill started gathering information of place names over 40 years ago got serious after he retired from teaching in 1995.  Bill had been a Fayetteville-Manlius High School History and Latin teacher.  Over the years he has searched many references and found that no one had written the complete history.

Bill can be reached by phone at (315) 637-3905 on on his website: www.booksbywrfarrell.
