One of the goals of the New World Dutch Barn Survey
2000 is to locate the sites of NWDB's that are no longer standing. Obviously
this is a much more difficult task to accomplish than to locate and document
extant ones. We have only managed to document the location of three of these
barns to date. With one we were fortunate enough to have obtained a photograph
that was taken about 30 years ago.
If anyone has any knowledge of such a site please
do not hesitate to contact us. We will be featuring a short article and the
photo of the above barn sometime in February on our web site. If anyone knows of
a standing barn that they think even slightly resembles a NWDB, let us know and
we or one of the other organizations we work with will be glad to come and take
a look at it.
