I would try the tax rolls at the Albany County Hall of Records, which has County records. Archivist is Craig Carlson, 518/436-3663.

Also, try Berne Town Clerk Pat Favreau - she may have early town tax rolls.

I wonder if F&S are the names of partners who owned a sawmill?

My guess is that it stands for fulling mill.
