I believe these paintings to be in the collection of the Albany Institute of History and Art. I use slides of them when teaching local history courses. They all depict Albany circa 1805, were painted by Dr. Eights later in life, so his memories of the same structures sometimes shift windows and things around. They are wonderfully atmospheric paintings in a warm pallette of colors.

Does anyone know where the paintings of old Albany by Dr. James Eights
might be? In particular, I am looking for a painting of his that shows
Main Street, Albany in 1805.
