The name sounded familiar, so I pulled out Jeptha Simms' "Frontiersmen of
New York" v2, and found that a Henry Seeber was basically cuckholded by
Marinus Willett during his command in the Mohawk valley 1781-83. According
to Simms, Seeber and his wife were already distant when Willett came on the
scene. Mrs. Seeber gave birth to Marinus Willett Seeber, who Willett
acknowledged as his son. This story is also corroborated in Howard Thomas'
biography of Willett.

Whether this Henry Seeber is the same as the one on the marker I can't tell
you at the moment. There appear to have been several Henry Seebers living
in the Mohawk/Schoharie area during the Revolution.
