Hello,
  Just to add a thought, when it appeared that the British were about to
attack Kingston, the capitol was moved and met in the home of Jan Van Deusen,
Hurley, NY.
   The home remains today as well as the stairs that lead to the second floor
and the "hidden" room in which they met.
